Bookmatch Walnut Table (Nakashima Inspired)

This bookmatched walnut table was inspired by a visit to George Nakashima Woodworker Complex. It is crafted entirely from black walnut lumber sourced locally in eastern Pennsylvania. The construction features traditional joinery with no screws—only tight-fitting joints and glue. Two natural voids in the tabletop have been filled with jet-black epoxy, highlighting the character of the slab. Hand-cut bowties are inlaid at both ends to stabilize the wood and prevent further splitting; they also serve as a striking visual detail. The approximate dimensions are 6' L x 30" W x 33" H, making it well-suited as a dining or breakfast table in a variety of spaces. The piece is finished with a durable hardwax oil that enhances and protects the natural beauty of the walnut.
