Arte LUMIS is a Texas-based light art studio creating one-of-a-kind sculptural lighting from solid, sustainably sourced wood. Each piece begins as a single log or cross-section—often reclaimed locally—and is transformed through a slow, hands-on process of carving, burning, and refinement. Light is then integrated into the form, revealing hidden structures, depth, and movement within the wood itself. The result is not a lamp, but a functional sculpture—designed to anchor a space, shift atmosphere, and create presence. No two pieces are ever alike. Each work carries the natural history of the material, including its origin, often documented down to GPS coordinates. Arte LUMIS works with designers, architects, and private collectors seeking statement pieces that live at the intersection of art, design, and light.

Lunar Crescent
Lunar Crescent is carved from a Texas ash cookie defined by a gentle arc and a carefully carved internal void. The curvature of the form and the negative space it contains establish the piece’s crescent-like profile, giving it a calm, suspended presence. When illuminated, light moves downward into the internal cavity, activating the ash’s fine grain structure and subtle tonal shifts. Pale silvers transition into soft golds as illumination passes through the wood’s organic chambers, producing a controlled, atmospheric glow rather than direct brightness. Resting on a brushed stainless-steel base, Lunar Crescent balances delicacy and structure. Its presence is quiet and deliberate, defined by containment, reflection, and the measured interaction between form, void, and light. Each Arte LUMIS work is one of a kind.
