Meet Your Seller
I was spawned in the Pacific NW and began creating with wood when I needed a hands-on hobby to relieve stress. The hobby turned into a 5,000 sq ft Portland, OR showroom. My preferred style is combining old objects and repurposing them with beautiful wood specimens to create functional, bespoke pieces that border on sculpture. I sold my entire collection to Williams Sonoma/Rejuvenation in 2021 and relocated to Santa Barbara, CA where I now create one-off pieces in wood with my amazing wife.

1930s Church Pew Chair Concept
The Church Pew Chair prototype is a unique conversation piece for your home or office. Constructed from vintage oak and steel, this 1930's church pew showcases the workmanship of prewar manufacturing and is loaded with stories and songs after serving thousands of people for over 90 years in a downtown Portland, Oregon chapel. Extracted from a larger vintage pew (shown), this seat is truly one-of-a-kind. The antique oak wood seat is supported on a simple, clear powder coated steel frame. I personally select and create these one-of-a-kind pieces and each is handmade with careful attention to detail. See more custom made and curated pieces at the link below: www.clarkjamesdesign.com
